After a few days in Mykonos, it was time to move on to the next destination on our trip: Santorini. This was probably my favorite location on our honeymoon because of the gorgeous views and also the affordability of all the delicious food.
When planning your honeymoon, make sure you take into account any holidays for the particular country you are going to. The biggest snafu we had to deal with on our honeymoon was getting from Mykonos to Santorini. For most days of the year, it is fairly easy to take a ferry from one island to the other and it usually takes a few hours. Unfortunately for us, the day we were planning on traveling on the ferry ended up being a Greek holiday and the ferries ended up not running. We were able to get a refund on our ferry tickets and luckily, with the help of our super helpful hotel staff at the Rocabella (Thank you Margarita!!), we were able to book same day plane tickets to fly from Mykonos to Santorini. It was really crazy because everyone that had been planning to take the ferry ended up trying to get plane tickets. We ended up getting to Santorini even earlier than we would've if we had taken the ferry but it was one expensive and stressful snafu.
Us finally on the plane!
View from our hotel made all the chaos worth it!
The hotel next door had already closed up since it was the end of the tourist season.
The one that is still open is Volcano View Hotel and it looks really nice!
We took the complimentary shuttle from our hotel to Fira town.
So gorgeous!
It's almost impossible to take a bad photo in such a beautiful place!
We walked thru the market looking for some souvenirs even though we had no luggage space.
Keep in mind that we decided to backpack on our honeymoon lol.

One of the items on my bucket list for Santorini was going to one of these fish spas.
It basically felt like getting little electric shocks on your toes.
The aftermath is the softest feet ever!
Our first day ended with dinner in Fira Town and some more walking around
before taking the shuttle back to our hotel. We were pretty exhausted from the
change in plans from the morning and we also knew we had a long day ahead the next day.
Thank you for reading!
More honeymoon diaries in the works!
