Wilderness Explorers: Echo Mountain

I was back in Los Angeles for Valentine's Day weekend and to continue on our #active2016 challenge and because the weather was so nice, we decided to hike the Echo Mountain Trail. We were originally going to do the Hollywood Sign hike but my friend challenged me to do this more "strenuous" hike. It's about a 2.5 to 3 mile hike uphill and my endurance was put the test. Up until this point, the longest hike we did was the South Fortuna Summit and that was because we got lost. This was pretty much an uphill battle and my legs were sore for days! I definitely felt my thighs burning!

A must do on this hike is to test out the Echo Phone! You actually have to yell pretty loudly and I had to get over my fear of public speaking by screaming into this thing lol. Thankfully, for those around me, it did not sound like me on a roller coaster (they have been described as "blood curdling").

Best way to end a hike close to Pasadena is Lemonade!

Definitely a hike to repeat. I would start this hike fairly early. We started around 9am and were back down a little after 11:30am. Great butt buster especially if you are tired of going to a gym.
